Renowned on the Houston hospitality scene for his mouthwatering dessert creations, Chef Chris Leung joined with Balcor Hospitality in March 2012 to open Cloud 10 Creamery. Since then, he has grown in standing as a gourmet dessert visionary, receiving accolades such as Houston’s Best Pastry Chef 2013 and elevating Cloud 10 Creamery to Finalist status twice in the Houston Culinary Awards.
Born and raised in Houston, Chef Chris’s journey began when he discovered his love for the culinary arts while in college. That passion eventually turned into an award-winning career, where he learned the in-and-outs of pastry creation in critically acclaimed Houston restaurants such as Bootsie’s, Kata Robata, and Yelapa. In a short time, he honed an enduring reputation for his ability to turn seemingly any ingredient into a sumptuous dessert treat. He continues that same legacy of bravado and originality in his efforts at Balcor.
Now as Director of Culinary Development, Chef Chris works with each of Balcor’s restaurants, pioneering and developing culinary programs and kitchen designs, and guiding Balcor’s unmatched team of ambitious, award-winning Chefs. He continues to work closely with Cloud 10 Creamery, creating unique ice cream applications and recipes unlike any found anywhere.
Chef Chris looks forward to molding Cloud 10 Creamery as a leader in the next generation of creamy dessert innovation, and continuing to build and grow new hospitality concepts with exceptional value and care.
